A 44-year-old bicyclist in North Oakland tragically died after crashing into a guard rail. He was not wearing a helmet when he was ejected.
The incident took place around 4:52 p.m. on Dwight Way, where witnesses reported that the man was riding downhill before the crash.
Authorities are still investigating the crash, and it is currently unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the incident.
The deceased individual, an Emeryville resident, had not been publicly named yet, as police are waiting to notify his family.
