The New York Times reported on the upcoming meeting, which was not on the Democratic mayor's public calendar. Mayor Adams has made quite clear his willingness to work with President-elect Trump and his incoming administration on behalf of New Yorkers and that partnership with the federal government is critical to New York City's success.
The indictment charges Adams with conspiracy to receive campaign contributions from foreign nationals and committing wire fraud and bribery. The mayor has previously said he would be open to the idea of receiving a presidential pardon.
In October, Adams attended the Al Smith Dinner, where Trump roasted him over the indictment, saying: 'Mr. Mayor, you're peanuts compared to what they've done to me. And you're gonna be ok.'
The mayor looks forward to having a productive conversation with the incoming president on how we can move our city and country forward, Levy added.
