A proposed NYC Ferry route could connect Brooklyn to Staten Island
Briefly

NYC Ferry has proposed new routes to enhance travel between Brooklyn and Staten Island, specifically connecting Bay Ridge to St. George Terminal. This marks the first comprehensive overhaul in the ferry's history since its launch in 2017. The NYC Economic Development Corporation plans to optimize the system based on operational analyses and rider feedback. Other potential changes include direct service to Midtown and adjustments to routes along the East River. Feedback surveys will be conducted to gather insights from all riders before implementing any changes.
The potential NYC Ferry route would connect Bay Ridge to St. George Terminal on Staten Island's North Shore, where the city's Staten Island Ferry docks.
For the first time since our launch in 2017, NYC Ferry is taking a fresh, holistic look across the system and proposing a comprehensive reconfiguration of routes to improve rider experience.
The ferry system is proposing several new routes, including a one-seat ride to Midtown for the South Brooklyn route and breaking the East River into two routes.
Officials will share a feedback survey with all riders, soliciting input from both longtime commuters and New Yorkers who have never used the system before.
