The boy had apparently run into the street mid-block on 52nd Street between 15th and 16th Avenue in Borough Park when the ambulance hit him around 10:30 a.m., a police source said. The ambulance took the child to Maimonides Hospital in critical condition, and then returned to the scene of the crash, cops said."
