Police arrested four men and are searching for a fifth in connection with over $2 million in bank robberies across Ontario that lasted nearly two years.
The robberies involved two or three individuals entering banks before they closed, disguising with masks and varying outfits for each heist.
During the robberies, bank employees were bound and witnesses experienced significant emotional distress, although no physical injuries were reported.
OPP Deputy Commissioner Marty Kearns stated at a press conference, 'Though no physical injuries occurred, the individuals caught up in these terrifying efforts have endured significant emotional distress and trauma.'
