Manhattan prosecutors have indicted 30 individuals linked to three gangs, attributing half of the area's shootings this year to their violent activities.
The violence has resulted in seven deaths and 18 shootings since late 2018, with the gangs instigating a war that traumatized the Upper Manhattan neighborhoods.
District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg emphasized accountability for those bringing illegal firearms into Manhattan, stating, 'You will be held accountable for your actions.'
The indictments are part of broader efforts to dismantle gang operations amid rising youth crime, with charges including conspiracy, gun possession, and second-degree murder.
