Another extension in New England: Patriots and standout DT Davon Godchaux reached agreement on a two-year extension worth up to $21 million that includes $16.5 million guaranteed. The Deal was negotiated by Drew Rosenhaus, Jason Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha.
Godchaux, 29, has been with the Patriots since signing in New England as a free agent in 2021. Since that time, he's been a fixture in the lineup, starting all but one game in his three seasons with the team.
His presence on the interior of the line is valued in stopping the run, helping New England's defense to be one of the best in the league over the last few seasons despite the team's overall struggles.
The contract extension is the latest in a line of several that Patriots vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf and head coach Jerod Mayo - each of whom are in their first seasons in the respective posts - have agreed to in 2024.
