First, the Patriots still hold the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. They have a strength of schedule tiebreaker over the Cardinals, and Arizona is on a bye this week. So, nothing will change from a draft standpoint. Second, the football season is short. There are only four games left. So, enjoy them for what they are and don't miss an opportunity to feel good about getting a win. Third, keep in mind that this game took place on Thursday night. There are piles of evidence definitively proving that Thursday Night Football is just a disaster of a game. Nothing you see on a TNF game is even remotely indicative of reality. You see all-stars look like scrubs and scrubs look like all-stars. The players aren't ready, the coaches aren't ready, and sometimes the field isn't even ready. You end up getting sloppy, low-scoring contests from potent offenses and... well, what we saw last night. In an effort to make money by any means possible without the slightest care given to the product on the field, the NFL has opened up some kind of dimensional vortex in which absolutely nothing makes any sense. Don't get yourself too bent out of shape.
