"When he was at UNC, he always had me under his wing. It would be an amazing experience," Hampton said, expressing his desire to reunite with Maye.
Hampton was one of Maye's most dependable playmakers, rushing for 1,504 yards and 15 touchdowns during Maye's final season with the Tar Heels.
Maye could use a versatile weapon like Hampton, especially given his familiarity with him, after continuing to perform well with 1,660 yards in the following season.
