Drake Maye shaves his head as part of charity event benefiting Boston Children's Hospital
"I think it's one of the biggest things in life to have been blessed to be where I'm at today, and being able to give back."
"I cut my grandma's hair one time, and it looked so horrible. It was during COVID, and she really needed a haircut, so I gave her a haircut, and it looked so bad."
Drake Maye, the 23-year-old quarterback for the New England Patriots, shaved his head during the 'Saving by Shaving' event, raising $4.15 million for Boston Children's Hospital. Granite Telecommunications contributed $2,500 for each head shaved or hair donation. Other participants included former Patriots player Joe Andruzzi and local officials. Maye and his wife recently established 'The MayeDay Family Foundation' to assist children and families in need in New England and North Carolina. Maye expressed gratitude for his ability to give back to the community.
