Brian Hoyer explains Patriots' cautious approach with Drake Maye
Briefly

I think now when guys get to the NFL, these coaches, they got to get these guys ready to play fast. And they also know 'I only have a short window before I get fired.' And so instead of going the hard way ... trying to build a foundation and let these guys learn the right way and know that they're going to mess up, it's like, well, just throw them out there and hope that it works out. And I think you're seeing that with not just offensive line play, but play in general.
The expectation is the @Patriots are going to play Drake Maye this year. So that he got in last night was a little piece in getting him ready to go. He's been really good in practice. They're going to be patient. But his time is coming.
