Tom Wilson, lead fashion cop of the Capitals' kangaroo court, forced Brandon Duhaime to wear suits for two weeks after he wore an outfit he didn't like
""Unfortunately, if you show up with a bad fit, you can have to wear a suit for two weeks," Duhaime told host Katie Florio. "You've got a suspension.""
""Tom would probably be the guy," he said. "Tom gave me a two-week suspension for having a great outfit, I guess. I just got off that suspension, and last game was my first game back. This is strictly based on if he likes it or not. For the most part, he's usually wrong.""
""Usually, you go after the guy with good style," he said. "You know what I mean? That's kinda the way I look at it.""
""Yeah, they're jealous," he said. "No Reebook," McMichael said."
The NHL ended off-ice dress codes before the season, giving players greater freedom in arrival outfits. Brandon Duhaime received a two-week dressing 'suspension' from alternate captain Tom Wilson after wearing an outfit Wilson disliked, forcing Duhaime to wear a suit for two weeks and return to a more formal look. Duhaime believes Wilson targets teammates with strong style. Connor McMichael agreed, calling teammates jealous and referencing Wilson's Reebok endorsement as a possible factor. Duhaime and McMichael identified Rasmus Sandin and Sonny Milano as the Capitals' best-dressed players.
