Sharks swap goalies with Colorado Avalanche as part of multi-player deal
Briefly

The San Jose Sharks traded goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood, forward Givani Smith, and a 2027 fifth-round pick for goaltender Alexandar Georgiev and forward Nikolai Kovalenko.
Mackenzie Blackwood, the Sharks' former starting goalie, ended his time in San Jose with a record of 16-34-7 and a .902 save percentage.
Alexandar Georgiev, acquired by the Sharks, has a cap hit of $3.4 million but will net a benefit of $2.924 million after Colorado retains 14% of his contract.
The conditional fifth-round pick included in the trade could convert to a worse fourth-round pick if specific performance conditions involving Blackwood and playoff success are met.
