Sharks rout Kraken as Macklin Celebrini passes Sidney Crosby for one NHL mark
"The Sharks (5-6-2) also earned a 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils on Oct. 30, but their three other victories this season came in overtime. Askarov made 36 saves in San Jose's 3-2 overtime win over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. Against the Kraken, Askarov had 14 saves in the first two periods and 15 in the third as the Sharks improved to 3-3-0 on the road this season."
"A lot of that success on the road has to do with the production from Celebrini. With his three-point effort on Thursday, Celebrini now has a league-leading 15 points in six road games, and with 21 points this season, is tied for the NHL lead in scoring with Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers. Celebrini scored his eighth goal of the season just 1:08 into the first period, then assisted on Klingberg's power play goal at the 11:21 mark of the second period."
The San Jose Sharks won 6-1 over the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena, with six players each scoring a goal. Macklin Celebrini had a goal and two assists. Will Smith, John Klingberg, and Tyler Toffoli each recorded a goal and an assist. Ethan Cardwell and Ty Dellandrea also scored, with Dellandrea's shorthanded goal providing a 5-1 lead in the third period and Toffoli adding a goal 30 seconds later. Yaroslav Askarov made 29 saves in the game after a 36-save effort in the prior overtime win. Celebrini has 21 points this season and is tied for the NHL scoring lead with Connor McDavid.
