Maple Leafs' John Tavares highlights William Nylander, Joseph Woll after 2nd consecutive win
""He's just so good and so dangerous. His ability to make it seem like the puck is glued to his stick and following him around the ice," Maple Leafs assistant captain John Tavares said. "That's what makes great players special is their ability to control the game and let things flow through them.""
""I thought our line was making good plays, staying hard on pucks and doing a pretty good job in the neutral zone for most of the night," Tavares said. "That allowed us to gain some good puck possession, go forecheck when we had too and use our ability to spread the ice. Obviously, when Willy gets it in space, he's as dangerous as anybody.""
Toronto snapped a 0-4-1 home skid with a 4-2 road victory over Calgary, moving to 26-21-9 and seven points behind the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. William Nylander produced a three-point performance, raising his career totals against Calgary to 14 goals and 25 assists in 26 meetings. The line of Nylander, John Tavares and Matias Maccelli accounted for three of Toronto's four goals and created sustained puck possession. Goaltender Joseph Woll stopped 28 of 30 shots to earn his second straight win and sits 13-7-4 with a 2.92 GAA and .910 save percentage for the season.
