Leafs practice notes: Joseph Woll projected to start vs. Blue Jackets, Brandon Carlo resumes skating
""He was so pissed off at me for pulling him the other night but I like that. He wanted to be there and fight, and that's good," Berube said of Woll after Tuesday's practice."
""I was having fun battling out there," Woll said. "Of course, anytime you get out of the net, you're not happy, but I thought we still had a chance to come back. I thought we were getting some momentum. It ended up not going our way.""
""I feel great. I feel a lot better," Knies said Wednesday morning via TSN's Mark Masters. "I'm just excited to get back in the lineup. It sucks watching. You just want to be out there to help the guys so happy to do that today.""
Joseph Woll skipped the Maple Leafs' optional skate but fully participated in Tuesday's practice and is the projected starter versus the Blue Jackets. The 27-year-old has a .905 save percentage and a 1-2-1 record in four appearances this season and was pulled in the second period of a 5-2 loss to Montreal, a decision that visibly upset him. Coach Berube welcomed Woll's competitive reaction. Auston Matthews (lower-body) returns after missing five games; Matthew Knies and Nicolas Roy also return after injuries. A full projected lineup lists Woll as the starter.
