Joseph Woll looking to rebound against Red Wings after worst start of the season
""I think I get very focused on my game, so I don't think I process too much about what the team's doing, which can be a good and a bad thing," Woll told reporters following Monday's game. "But at the end of the day, the result's not how I wanted it. And the last couple of games, obviously, not the result I want. Go to the drawing board, learn from it. Tomorrow's a new day, flush it and get back to work.""
""I get it, last game was a tough game," coach Craig Berube said. "With the travel and everything, our team wasn't at our best. I don't think we gave him the opportunity to be successful in that game. He's been our guy, so that's why I'm going with him.""
Joseph Woll admitted he needs to be better after a poor performance and said he will learn from it and move on. Dennis Hildeby has played well enough to be trusted, but Woll remains the starter while Anthony Stolarz is out. Coach Craig Berube cited travel and team play as factors that hurt Woll's chances in the prior game and affirmed confidence by starting him again. Woll has 1.5 goals saved above expected at 5-on-5 this season and a stronger 3.62 since Dec. 1. He has shown tendencies to chase pucks and struggle with his high blocker.
