Rybinski's journey to being one step away from his NHL debut is somewhat atypical. He was drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2019 but never signed, later becoming a free agent, which makes this recall even more special.
Rybinski expressed immense joy upon receiving the call about his recall: "I was just driving around... and Todd Nelson called me. I was confused, like, 'Really? Me?' It was really cool. Just super happy. Got emotional."
