"I kind of bit on the shot [by Frost] and he threw it backdoor. I just put my glove out there, tried to cover space. And I got fortunate... I caught a piece. That's a remarkable accomplishment in this game, and it just speaks volumes for how good of a goaltender he is."
"With Quick on his knees, and out of position, Coronato had what seemed like an empty net to shoot at. But somehow the 40-year-old Quick whirled and threw his arms back across the goal in desperation, and Coronato's shot ticked off the bottom of his catching glove and went wide."
Jonathan Quick, the all-time winningest American-born goaltender in NHL history, demonstrated his fierce competitive nature during the Rangers' 4-0 victory over Calgary. Late in the third period with the game already decided, Quick made a remarkable desperation save while on his knees and out of position. Matt Coronato had an apparent empty net opportunity, but Quick whirled and extended his glove across the goal, deflecting the shot wide. The save preserved Quick's shutout, his second of the season and 65th of his career, moving him ahead Rangers legend Henrik Lundqvist into sole possession of 17th place on the NHL all-time shutout list.
