Capitals hold longest point streak of 2024-25 NHL season with 12 games
Briefly

The Washington Capitals have impressive momentum, maintaining a 12-game point streak while sitting atop the NHL standings with a record of 33-10-5. Despite struggling to find their game, they are 9-0-3 since late December and have produced notable offensive contributions from players like Pierre-Luc Dubois and Tom Wilson. Their goaltending also shines; Logan Thompson has made crucial saves following an injury to Charlie Lindgren. This success marks their longest winning streak since March 2021, showcasing the team's resilience and ability to maintain performance under pressure.
Asked last week about the team's chart-topping season, head coach Spencer Carbery couldn't help but grin. "I don't know how to answer that," he said then, laughing. "We feel good. I think we're happy and think we have a level of impetus now.”
Washington is the only team this year to record multiple point streaks of 8+ games. Over the 12-game streak, three Capitals players have points in the double digits: Pierre-Luc Dubois has 11 points (4g, 7a), while both Tom Wilson and Aliaksei Protas have 10 (6g, 4a each).
