Justin Sourdif was activated from injured reserve hours before the Capitals' road game against the Colorado Avalanche. The Capitals opened a roster spot by returning Brett Leason to the AHL's Hershey Bears. Sourdif missed three straight games after suffering an upper-body injury when he took a puck to the face during a January 11 loss to the Nashville Predators. Sourdif had also been bloodied in practice days earlier. He has been practicing and was recently upgraded to taking contact. The 23-year-old centerman has 19 points in 45 games. Tom Wilson remains on injured reserve and is likely to miss additional games.
