He said that Scotiabank Arena's ice "isn't great" and that players "kind of live with it." Venues that host nightly basketball games or concerts make it difficult to maintain pristine ice. The Coca-Cola Coliseum, home of the Toronto Marlies, usually has better ice because fewer events allow easier maintenance. Matthews has 26 goals in 51 games this season and has recently resembled his former Hart Trophy form.
