"It became harder and harder physically,"
"I'm not going to change my mind,"
"So I've been enjoying it. I'm obviously having a lot of fun, still playing the game. This year won't be any different."
"My kids weren't born when we won, so I'd like to win so they can experience that feeling too."
Luc Robitaille recognized his playing career was over when recovery took longer than playing and later entered the Hockey Hall of Fame. Anze Kopitar, at 38 and in good health, announced he will retire after his 20th season with the Kings to spend more time with his family and will not change his decision. Kopitar plans to approach the final season the same way as previous ones, enjoying the game and focusing on the season. He hopes for a different playoff outcome after recent first-round losses and would like to win another Stanley Cup so his children can experience that feeling.
