Alex Ovechkin struggles to locate Alex Ovechkin's face in a 'Find Alex Ovechkin' game
"The league challenged Alex Ovechkin to locate his face in a game they created for social media entitled "Find Alex Ovechkin." Basically, dozens of different hockey players' heads bounce off the sides of the screen as the bio pic of Ovechkin hides behind them in the background. Now, you might assume because Ovi's Ovi, and he's lived in his body for 40 years, the goal-scoring GOAT would point himself out instantly. But you'd be wrong."
"The video begins with Ovechkin sitting at his locker inside MedStar Capitals Iceplex as an NHL producer approaches. "Take [my phone]," the producer says. "When you see your face, hold it to pause." Ten seconds go by. "Find you?" The producer asks. "I can't," a frustrated Ovechkin replies. More time goes by. "Geez," Ovechkin says. "Are you sure I'm there?" Ovechkin bends over and looks closer. Twenty more seconds elapse."
"As the experience approaches a minute, the producer gives Ovechkin a tip and tells him his thumb on the phone to pause the video and look closer. "I can't find it," Ovechkin says after some further close studying. "Are you sure I'm there?" Ovechkin let's go of the frame and advances it for another second. "OH! I SEE IT!" he says excitedly. "Yeah! Found it!""
The NHL created a social-media game called 'Find Alex Ovechkin' in which dozens of hockey players' heads bounce across the screen while Ovechkin's bio picture hides in the background. Ovechkin sat in his locker at MedStar Capitals Iceplex and was asked to pause when he saw his face. Ten seconds passed and Ovechkin failed to identify himself, expressing frustration and doubt that his image was present. He bent over to look closer, advanced the frame, and still searched. Near the one-minute mark a producer advised using a thumb to pause and inspect. Ovechkin then located his picture and exclaimed that he found it. Viewers are invited to try the game themselves.
