Mateiko has power forward tools. He drives straight ahead and runs through defenders on his way to scoring areas. And with his 6-foot-5 frame, he takes a lot of space in front of the net. He uses his reach to place the puck in between the stick and skates of opponents. He dangles through and centers passes to teammates.
