Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider publicly celebrated running back Kenneth Walker III's Super Bowl LX MVP performance at the team's championship parade. However, contract negotiations between the Seahawks and Walker's representatives began at the combine this week with uncertain prospects. Schneider indicated the team is prepared for Walker to sign elsewhere if no agreement materializes on Seattle's terms. ESPN reported the Seahawks will not use the franchise or transition tag on Walker, making him a free agent when the signing period begins. If Walker signs with another team, he would become only the fourth Super Bowl MVP in history to start the following season on a different franchise.
