Will 49ers' Brock Purdy and Mac Jones trade places this week vs. Rams?
"By game day, Purdy was removed from the injury list entirely with Jones as questionable. Purdy played every snap in a 31-26 home loss to Jacksonville, completing 22 of 38 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns with three turnovers two on interceptions and one on a lost fumble caused by former teammate Arik Armstead on a strip-sack with the 49ers within striking distance in the final minutes. However, coach Kyle Shanahan said Purdy's toe was bothering him, hence the did not participate designation."
"General manager John Lynch gave no indication either way Tuesday morning during his weekly appearance on KNBR-680. Lynch confirmed Purdy had additional tests to make sure Brock's all right. I think he is. As for the game, Lynch said, He's listed as questionable, and I think it's a true reflection of where he is right now. Jones has apparently benefitted from the week off from game action. I think Mac is in a good position to play or back up if need be, Lynch said."
San Francisco listed quarterback Brock Purdy as did not participate Monday because of turf toe while Mac Jones was recorded as a full participant. Late last week Purdy was considered farther along than Jones, but by game day Purdy was removed from the injury list with Jones listed as questionable. Purdy played every snap in the 31-26 loss to Jacksonville, throwing for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and committing three turnovers, and his toe reportedly bothered him. General manager John Lynch said Purdy underwent additional tests and is listed as questionable. Ricky Pearsall Jr. left with knee instability and his status is uncertain.
