The Patriots were without leading tackler Robert Spillane in the 35-31 loss to the Bills after a foot injury prevented him from playing despite his presence at pregame warmups. Spillane had been limited in two of three practices and was listed questionable. Buffalo scored 35 points, the most allowed by New England this season, erasing a 21-0 Patriots lead with a second-half comeback. Missed tackles and a successful Buffalo running game contributed to the collapse. Milton Williams was also unavailable. Spillane finished with 97 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble, 29 tackles clear of the next defender.
