"I think they gave him some basic over the counter remedies in game like Pepto or something like that and it got probably progressively worse after the game and so I'm appreciative of our medical experts. We just exercised an abundance of precaution. We didn't want to get him any air without having a complete understanding about what he was dealing with, and they did a good job of that."
"I don't think it's going to jeopardize his availability at all, but it certainly may jeopardize his availability at the early portions of the week from a practice standpoint."
"He's moving in the right direction."
DK Metcalf posted a season-high 148 yards on seven receptions in the 27-22 win and was removed from the team flight after reporting stomach pains. He visited a local hospital in Baltimore, stayed overnight in a hotel and returned to Pittsburgh on Monday. Coach Mike Tomlin said Metcalf is moving in the right direction and that his availability for Monday's game against Miami is not expected to be jeopardized, though his early-week practice participation could be limited. Tomlin said Metcalf was hit in the abdomen, received basic over-the-counter remedies during the game, and the medical staff exercised caution. The Dolphins defense has allowed 13.3 points per game in their last four wins, and the status of several other Steelers contributors remains uncertain.
