Schottenheimer expects Parsons for opener

Micah Parsons has not participated in training camp practices in Oxnard or the past two days at The Star, but he has attended walkthroughs and team meetings. Parsons mentioned back tightness at the start of camp and received treatment while in Oxnard. The Cowboys and Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, have not engaged in extension talks since March, despite owner Jerry Jones saying a framework had been agreed. Parsons will make $21.324 million this season on his fifth-year option. Coach Brian Schottenheimer expressed confidence Parsons will be ready for the Sept. 4 opener and praised his body care and preparedness. The team plans limited practices after finalizing the 53-man roster to focus on the Eagles.
