""The Cooper Kupps and the Ernest Jones of the world have been here," Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald said. "They've given their perspective on how we want to approach the week. They've been great.""
""No different than when we were all with the Rams," Peetz said. "They were part of a great culture, and they saw what it was like, they helped build it, and they had great leadership with Sean. And now they bring those lessons here and they have great leadership from Mike.""
""We made it a point, whenever the first time we were actually allowed to reach out to Coop, I had him on the line," Macdonald said."
Cooper Kupp, Ernest Jones IV and Cam Akers all started for the Rams in Super Bowl LVI and later were released or traded, joining the Seahawks. Kupp and Jones became stars and leaders for a Seahawks team that finished 14-3, earned the NFC's top seed and beat the 49ers and Rams to reach Super Bowl LX, the franchise's first appearance since 2015. Coaches Mike Macdonald and Jake Peetz credited those players with bringing Super Bowl experience, leadership and culture lessons from their Rams tenure. Kupp spent eight seasons with the Rams, won 2021 offensive player of the year and Super Bowl MVP, then signed a three-year Seahawks deal with more than $26 million guaranteed.
