Geno Smith committed a costly early mistake and finished 24 of 43 for 180 passing yards with three interceptions and three sacks in a 20-9 home loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith acknowledged past similar games and emphasized learning from the experience, saying he will be hard on himself. Coach Pete Carroll called the defeat a missed opportunity, questioned some decisions in the passing game, and said he will review film to determine available options. Carroll predicted Smith will regain confidence and return to play better in upcoming games.
