"In Thursday's injury report from the Bay Area, Patriots linebacker Robert Spillane (ankle) was upgraded to "limited" in terms of his practice participation after missing Wednesday's session at Stanford University. However, fellow linebacker Harold Landry III was downgraded from "limited" to "did not participate" due to a lingering knee injury. Maye (right shoulder) and defensive tackle Joshua Farmer (on injured reserve with a hamstring injury) were deemed full participants on Thursday, while offensive tackles Morgan Moses (rest) and Thayer Munford Jr. (knee) were limited along with Spillane."
""We manage these things," Mike Vrabel said of Spillane's injury Thursday morning. "I mean, everybody's important to this defense. Everybody's important to our team. Not just one guy. And again, Robert does mean a lot to us and has had a good year for us. So, we'll just kind of see how it goes today. "We still have time to work through things before the game."
Robert Spillane was a limited participant in Thursday's practice after missing the prior session with an ankle issue, while Harold Landry III did not participate because of a lingering knee injury. Drake Maye and Joshua Farmer were full participants, with Farmer on injured reserve for a hamstring. Offensive tackles Morgan Moses (rest) and Thayer Munford Jr. (knee) were limited. Spillane missed most of the AFC championship game, and his absence would significantly weaken New England's run defense given his role as a veteran captain. Mike Vrabel emphasized roster management and optimism about including Spillane on game day. Landry's knee has slowed his pass-rush production since early in the season.
