Rondale Moore, a 25-year-old NFL wide receiver, died by suicide in his hometown of New Albany, Indiana, according to police. Jeff Brohm, Moore's former Purdue coach, described him as joyful, fiercely competitive, and possessing an unmatched work ethic and a contagious smile. Teammates, including JJ Watt, publicly expressed shock and sorrow. Moore was born five weeks premature and excelled in basketball, track, and football in high school before accepting a scholarship to Purdue. He won the Paul Hornung Award as college football's most versatile player and drew NFL interest for his speed, versatility, and drive despite his small stature.
