NFL moves Pro Bowl events to Super Bowl week
""We've spent a lot of time evolving our Pro Bowl, talking about how to make our Pro Bowl more attractive, both for our players participating but also our fans," Goodell said. "We spent a great deal of time talking about the objectives, and the objectives really are to celebrate and honor our incredible players, and second is to use our game as a global platform.""
""Flag has become a global game," Goodell said. "Our players have embraced playing that in the all-star format, and we think it's really important to continue that initiative.""
The Pro Bowl will move to Super Bowl week beginning this February, with the Pro Bowl Games scheduled for Tuesday night, Feb. 3, at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. The event will remain a flag football game pitting the AFC against the NFC and will be more television-focused in a smaller, 4,000-seat ballroom at the Super Bowl Experience fan fest. The format could shift toward greater international emphasis ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. NFL owners approved player participation in the 2028 Games pending a finalized agreement with the players’ union. Coaching roles will change, with Peyton and Eli Manning replaced as coaches but remaining involved in some capacity. The Tuesday-night timing is not committed beyond 2026.
