Maye rallies Pats after last week's 'wake-up call'
"Drake Maye called it the "elephant in the room.""
""It was kind of a wake-up call last week," Maye said. "This week, it was like, 'man, let's not have that feeling two weeks in a row.'""
""Just gritty. He got hit. They pressured. He just kept getting up and battling. He didn't flinch," Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said. "I think it was important for all of us to have that game -- the entire team.""
Drake Maye responded to a late-game setback by leading a nine-play, 89-yard touchdown drive that lifted the New England Patriots to a 28-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens and clinched a playoff spot. Maye completed 31 of 44 passes for 380 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, marking his first 300-yard passing game. He faced heavy pressure, especially in the fourth quarter when 47% of his dropbacks were pressured, yet completed 86% of his passes in that quarter, averaging 9.9 yards per attempt. The drive began at the Patriots' 11-yard line with 5:02 remaining.
