Marcus Freeman: Meet His Wife Joanna and 7 Kids
"We had a lot of breakups and make-ups. We fell hard. We fell fast. We were really young when we met, and in a lot of ways, we really grew and matured into adults together."
"There's no one else I'd rather do life with than her."
"I want them to see us as fathers and as husbands, because those lessons that they learn from watching us will last forever,"
"It's about helping these people figure out ways to achieve goals that maybe they couldn't even imagine. That's as a father; that's as a football coach; that's as a leader of the football program - every day."
Marcus Freeman coached Notre Dame to the most wins in a single season in program history. He met his wife Joanna while playing college football for Ohio State and they married in 2010. Marcus has an eldest daughter, Bria, from a previous relationship, and six children with Joanna: Vinny, Siena, Gino, Nico, Capri, and Rocco. Joanna and the children practice Catholicism, and Marcus converted to Catholicism when he began working at Notre Dame. The family frequently attends practices to spend time together and to model fatherhood for his players. Marcus emphasizes helping people achieve goals both as a father and as a coach.
