Jayden Daniels's rookie season was a dream. Year 2 is becoming a nightmare.
"It doesn't take much to sell Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs hosting Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders on "Monday Night Football." The best quarterback in the league against a rising star coming off a historic rookie season. The present vs. the future in a prime time showdown. But Monday's matchup won't be as the NFL planned, with Daniels ruled out because of a low-grade right hamstring strain he suffered in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday."
"Daniels played in all 20 of the Commanders' games in 2024-25, including the playoffs, but he missed two games this season after suffering a left knee sprain in Week 2. He returned to form in Week 5 but was knocked out again Sunday with the hamstring injury. Monday will be his third missed game in eight weeks. Coach Dan Quinn said Thursday that Daniels will focus on rehabbing this week with the intent to return Nov. 2 against the Seattle Seahawks."
Jayden Daniels suffered a low-grade right hamstring strain in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys and will miss Monday Night Football against the Kansas City Chiefs. Daniels missed two earlier games after a Week 2 left knee sprain and has now missed three games in eight weeks. When healthy, Daniels has shown precision passing, an electric arm, pocket awareness, turnover avoidance and exceptional running ability. Injuries to Daniels and teammates have derailed the Commanders' campaign and limited consistency. Coach Dan Quinn said Daniels will focus on rehabbing with intent to return Nov. 2 against the Seattle Seahawks. Marcus Mariota will start in Daniels' absence.
