""I would play this game for free," Smith-Njigba said. "I love this game so much. But you don't have to, and I'm learning to be"
Jaxon Smith-Njigba expects to receive a top-of-position contract and believes he should be the NFL's highest-paid wide receiver, seeking more than $40 million per year in new-money average. The Seattle Seahawks plan to pursue new deals this offseason for Smith-Njigba and cornerback Devon Witherspoon, with fifth-year option deadlines by May 1. Smith-Njigba led the NFL with 1,793 receiving yards, set a franchise record, caught 10 touchdowns, earned a Pro Bowl selection, and added 199 yards and two touchdowns across three playoff games. He helped Seattle win Super Bowl LX. Smith-Njigba has one season remaining on his rookie contract.
