The Miami Dolphins' first injury report of the season revealed multiple players listed with new or previously undisclosed ailments. Darren Waller is listed with a hip issue after beginning camp on the physically-unable-to-perform list while returning from retirement, though the hip listing could reflect routine treatment and Waller has had no setbacks. Uncertainty remains about Waller's playing time for the opener. Jaylen Wright suffered a knee injury and is expected to miss multiple weeks. Austin Jackson has a toe injury. Ashtyn Davis and Tyreek Hill have calf issues, with Hill also dealing with an oblique problem. Dee Eskridge is in concussion protocol. Several players practiced fully despite listed injuries.
Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said Wednesday he's not sure how much Waller will play in Sunday's opener at the Indianapolis Colts. Running back Jaylen Wright's lower-body injury suffered in the joint practice against the Jacksonville Jaguars two weeks ago was revealed Wednesday to be to the knee. He is expected to miss multiple weeks allowing it to recover. Right tackle Austin Jackson has a bad toe, after he missed multiple weeks during camp getting his foot stepped on.
Safety Ashtyn Davis' lower-leg injury suffered early in camp is a calf ailment. He was deemed a limited participant in Wednesday's practice. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill was also revealed to be dealing with a calf injury, along with his ailing oblique. Hill was limited Wednesday. Fellow wide receiver Dee Eskridge is in concussion protocol and was limited Wednesday. Other injuries listed but that still allowed for full participation Wednesday: Cornerback Storm Duck (hip), tight end Julian Hill (shoulder) and safeties Ifeatu Melifonwu and Dante Trader Jr. (hamstrings).
