Brents, who entered the league as a 2023 second-round pick by Indianapolis, has endured a slew of injuries in his brief career. He was developing into a dependable defender for the Dolphins after taking the starting spot held by cornerback Rasul Douglas (ankle/foot)."

Brents appeared in seven games with 14 tackles and had surgery; he is expected to make a full recovery for next season. The Dolphins are 4-7 and return from their bye to host New Orleans on Nov. 30.
