Dolphins guard James Daniels active for opener against Colts
"Daniels, who rehabbed a torn Achilles on his right leg in the offseason, popped up on the Dolphins' injury report Thursday for an ankle injury on the left leg. He left Thursday's practice early as a limited participant and did not take part in Friday drills. With Daniels good to go, Miami will have its full projected starting offensive line available for Sunday's opener in Indianapolis. From left to right, the team has Patrick Paul, rookie Jonah Savaiinaea, Aaron Brewer, Daniels and Austin Jackson starting."
"Other Dolphins inactives were tight end Darren Waller (hip), running back Jaylen Wright (knee), cornerback Ethan Bonner (hamstring), wide receiver Tahj Washington, defensive tackle Zeek Biggers and quarterback Quinn Ewers. Washington and Biggers were healthy scratches, and Ewers is available as an emergency third quarterback. With Wright out, the Dolphins have De'Von Achane and rookie Ollie Gordon II to handle the workload in the backfield, with veteran Jeff Wilson Jr. elevated from the practice if a third running back is needed."
James Daniels is active and will start at right guard despite an ankle issue, allowing Miami to field its full projected starting offensive line: Patrick Paul, Jonah Savaiinaea, Aaron Brewer, Daniels and Austin Jackson. Daniels had rehabbed a torn Achilles this offseason and missed part of practice after spraining his left ankle. Dee Eskridge cleared concussion protocol and is available. Inactives include Darren Waller (hip), Jaylen Wright (knee), Ethan Bonner (hamstring), Tahj Washington, Zeek Biggers and Quinn Ewers. With Wright out, De'Von Achane and rookie Ollie Gordon II will handle running back duties, with Jeff Wilson Jr. available if needed. Kicker Riley Patterson replaces Jason Sanders on injured reserve.
