"To make matters worse, quarterback Jayden Daniels went down with a scary injury about midway through the fourth quarter. It was obviously serious as it didn't take long for each and every Commanders teammate to go down on a knee, fearing the worst. After the game Commanders head coach Dan Quinn commented on Daniels' injury and status, calling it a left elbow injury and not saying much more than that."
"Really? There wasn't even a discussion to pull your franchise quarterback down by 31 points with half a quarter to go? Dan Quinn should take full responsibility for Jayden Daniels' elbow injury. Down by a score of 38-7 with just over seven minutes to go in the fourth quarter, there is absolutely no chance Daniels should be in the game."
The Washington Commanders fell behind quickly in Sunday Night Football and the defeat worsened when quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a left elbow injury midway through the fourth quarter. Teammates knelt on the field in reaction, and head coach Dan Quinn later said there was no discussion to remove Daniels despite acknowledging in hindsight that doing so would have made sense. The Commanders trailed 38-7 with just over seven minutes remaining when Daniels remained in the game. Marcus Mariota replaced Daniels and will start while Daniels recovers. The team dropped to 3-6 amid concerns about an aging roster assembled by Adam Peters.
