"The Washington Commanders are promoting assistant quarterbacks coach David Blough to be their next offensive coordinator, a person familiar with the matter confirmed Friday night. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the team had not yet announced the hire. The move continues a remarkable ascent for Blough, 30, who is just two years removed from his final season as an NFL player."
"He spent the past two seasons as Washington's assistant quarterbacks coach before being elevated to quarterbacks coach on an interim basis late this season, following the departure of Tavita Pritchard to Stanford. Promoting Blough also marks a bold risk for Coach Dan Quinn entering his third season at the helm. Quinn and offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury agreed to mutually part ways earlier this week, a person familiar with the matter said."
