Bengals RG Patrick to miss games with calf injury
"We'll make some decisions there,"
"It wasn't the ideal situation you would draw up, but I had extreme confidence in myself to able to step in and be a vessel to help the Bengals win when called upon,"
"I was just called upon earlier than I thought."
Lucas Patrick will miss at least one week because of a calf injury sustained in the Bengals' win over the Cleveland Browns. Coach Zac Taylor said the team will evaluate options while Patrick recovers. Dalton Risner, who signed with the Bengals on Aug. 28 and had only two padded practices before the opener, finished the game at right guard. Risner joined after Cordell Volson suffered a training-camp shoulder injury and was a free agent during the offseason. Risner said he was confident stepping into action and was called upon earlier than expected. Cincinnati beat Cleveland 17-16.
