2 dozen youth get wishes granted to go to Super Bowl 60
"Make-A-Wish, along with the NFL and Fanatics, is granting the wishes of 24 youth to go to the Super Bowl, complete with unforgettable experiences like a shopping spree to gear up for the big game. And part of the surprise: Jaguars player, Cam Little, and Arik Armstead, a former San Francisco 49ers, along with Penei Sewell, of the Detroit Lions, made an appearance. The children are from all over the U.S."
"Alec Martinez, 17, of Whittier, continues treatment for his Acute lymphoblastic leukemia or ALL. "It makes it feel like maybe there wasn't all bad things that came out of having cancer," Martinez said. "He's been accepted to six colleges," said his mother, Cinthia Lopez. "He's a bright kid. We never thought cancer would come and steal that from us, but we're here." And they're taking it all in."
Make-A-Wish, the NFL, and Fanatics granted 24 youth wishes to attend the Super Bowl and provided VIP experiences including a shopping spree at Pier 39, red carpet access at NFL Honors, a behind-the-scenes tour of Levi's Stadium, and a welcome reception at Topgolf. Jaguars player Cam Little, former 49ers Arik Armstead, and Penei Sewell surprised the children during the shopping event. Several wish recipients are cancer patients or survivors, including Alexander Rodriguez, 16, now cancer-free after a brain tumor, and Alec Martinez, 17, undergoing treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The experiences culminate with attendance at the Super Bowl at Levi's Stadium.
