Will Luka Doncic finally play in a preseason game Sunday? To be determined
""I don't know yet," he said. "We got to talk about it - JJ and my team. So, I don't know yet. But I'm probably going to end up playing two games of the preseason.""
""It's a big change," Doncic said. "He's a great player. He can help us a lot. But at the end of the day, our mentality needs to be next man up. We got a group of guys that have been practicing and hopefully LeBron can join us as soon as possible. We are going to obviously need him. But our mentality has got to be next man up. That's it.""
Luka Doncic was a full participant in practice but his appearance in the preseason is to be determined by coach JJ Redick and team discussions. Austin Reaves will play in the exhibition against the Warriors and Marcus Smart will make his first preseason appearance. The Lakers have six preseason games, with three following the Warriors matchup. Doncic said he probably will play two preseason games. The regular season opens Oct. 21 against Golden State without LeBron James, who has right-side sciatica and will be re-evaluated in three to four weeks. Doncic emphasized a next-man-up mentality and named teammates who will help fill the void.
