The Los Angeles Lakers will host the San Antonio Spurs on their standard court for the NBA Cup quarterfinals after the specialized bright yellow Cup court was withdrawn for repairs. Players reported the Cup court's surface as slippery, and Luka Doncic called it "dangerous" to play on. The promotional Cup court was provided by the NBA to all teams and was returned to the vendor for repairs. The decision to use the standard court was made "out of an abundance of caution." Orlando and the Lakers previously used their regular courts for Cup games following similar concerns. Doncic expressed appreciation for the court change and supported the Cup competition.
