"We appreciate Kim and his staff for their efforts over the past three seasons leading our men's basketball team. We wish him and his family all the best in the future. - Providence College Athletic Director Steve Napolillo"
"I don't want anyone's sympathy. I don't like anyone's pity. Don't text me nothing sad, 'Hope you're OK, keep your head up'... Kick me while I'm down. I'll get up. I've never been more proud in that locker room than I was after this season. - Kim English"
Providence College parted ways with head coach Kim English following the Friars' 85-72 quarterfinal loss to St. John's in the Big East Tournament. English completed three seasons with a 46-49 overall record and a 23-36 Big East conference record. The team's only postseason appearance beyond the conference tournament was an NIT berth in 2023-24. Providence finished the most recent season 15-18 with a 7-13 conference mark. Athletic Director Steve Napolillo released a statement thanking English and his staff for their efforts. English responded to his dismissal by rejecting sympathy, stating he remained proud of his team's effort despite the disappointing results.
