"It's more than basketball -- it's faith, family and a place where I'm seen as more than just a basketball player,"
"From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt the love, the opportunity and the calling to be part of something bigger than myself. I'm blessed to call Notre Dame home. Go Irish!"
"Jacy is a versatile playmaker who can dominate on both sides of the ball,"
"She creates mismatches wherever she is on the floor, and that will prove invaluable in Notre Dame's system."
Jacy Abii, the No. 9 recruit in the 2026 girls' SC Next 100 class, committed to Notre Dame under coach Niele Ivey, choosing the Fighting Irish over UCLA, Tennessee, Texas and LSU. Abii cited faith, family and feeling seen beyond basketball as primary reasons for her choice. She missed her junior high school season after an ACL injury, played sparingly this summer, and transferred from Frisco Liberty to Legion Prep after helping Frisco Liberty win two state championships. The 6-foot-2 forward is a perimeter-oriented player known for shooting, elite passing, three-point shooting and strong rebounding. De'Aaron Fox praised her versatility and ability to create mismatches. Abii is Notre Dame's third 2026 commitment as the program rebuilds its roster and adds frontcourt depth.
